Does this Craigslist pet advertisement seem strange to you?
I was browsing through Columbia/ Jeff City, MO Craigslist, when I came across this advertisement.
http://columbiamo.craigslist.org/pet/2018258849.html

I know it might seem stupid, but this advertisement is really bothering me. It has popped up several times in 'Pets", within the last week. It sounds like something a Nigerian scammer would write.

that ad seems like it's coming from a puppy mill. Puppy mills are bad. don't get a dog from a puppy mill. They have so many health problems, they're rarely taken care of properly, and they're only made for the sake of making money.

It comes across as desparate but it might be legit. No one is asking for any money and a U.S. address and phone number are given. You could try to call this person and ask for more info. If she is so desparate to place these pets I don't think she'll be asking for any money.

I did some Google look-ups and there is a person with this name on Facebook (Jannel Morris http://www.facebook.com/jannelm) and on her Facebook page is a pic of a dog, so maybe this is the same person who placed that Craigslist ad.

I'd try contacting her and see what happens. If you don't like the way she answers your questions then do take any further actions and hang up.

There is no way to tell from an ad. Call the number - if you can pick up the animal in person then it's not a scam. If they mention they are out of town and need to ship the pet, then it's definitely a scam and they have just stolen someone else's name and pictures
