Why does this girl never like my post/pictures on FB or Instagram?

I was friends with this girl for about 3 years in school...we weren't close, things were kinda "confusing" at times...don't really feel like explaining...

But we considered each other friends.
We always worked together in class, went to events together, I hung out with her a little at prom.

Our friendship though was weird because I would often blatantly ignore her, treat her awkwardly...it wasn't anything personal, I just had issues in high school...I feel bad for how I treated her sometimes, she's one of the nicest people to me, tried so hard to be my friend...eventually she started to ignore me back.

I made an Instagram a few months ago, she told me to follow her and I asked her follow me back. She did...but never likes any of my pictures. I like her stuff sometimes but she never likes mine. I just find it a bit rude.

And on Facebook we never even talk but for some reason she's at the very top of my friends list every time I go to my page...

You don't have to chat through social networking to still be solid friends.
Honestly, I'm the same way as her. I don't care about other people's statuses or pictures, not meaning to be harsh. It's just personality.

Also, she may still be hurt from you ignoring her. It was probably a big punch to the stomach for her.
She probably thought that she should just move on.

Message her more, get interactive. This is a major unhealthy relationship. The 'friends or not friends' phase is horrible, and even worse than 'not friends'.

Message her! Write an apology that looks like this:

Hey, [friends name]
I've been thinking lately, and I know it sounds weird , but I think our friendship has kinda..drifted off. I've had some issues over high school and, I apologise for the way I treated you. But, I'd really like to build the friendship back up, as you were one of the kindest friends I had.
I hope you can consider.
