Facebook privacy. How private it really is?
I discovered a feature on Facebook a few days ago, I could find my AIM friends on Facebook via import feature however not everybody I add on my AIM are my friends and I don't want those people to find me on Facebook. Now my Facebook profile is completely hidden,no one can find me and I'm not going to show up in search results. Can they still find my profile if they import contacts on their AIM?

P.S I still have my AIM screen name in my info section.

they have to be your friends to actually see your page, all they can tell through that feature is that you have a page, and see your main photo in a very small scale. unless you set ur profile so that anyone can see it, no one but your added friends can see your page.

you can decide what it shows on your profile by going to settings in the top right corner go to privacy settings and click on profile

Well if your Facebook is completely hidden and you don't show up in search results, then no, they shouldn't be able to find you using AIM.

(Just to double check, you mean your Search Visibility Privacy Settings are set to "Only friends" though, right? In which case, nope those AIM people shouldn't be able to find you when they try to search for you by importing AIM contacts.)

The fact that your AIM name is listed in your info section doesn't affect your search settings. Only your friends will see your AIM name.
