Why do the same friends always appear in the left hand "friends" box on my facebook profile?
does that mean that those people who appear on display on my profile page have recently viewed my facebook profile OR does it show people whose profiles i just viewed OR are they just random?

i dont know what it is, but it is certainly nothing with viewing profiles or what profiles you viewed or something like that, alot of people are worried about this but it would be a privacy violation so facebook simply cant and wont do this

No. Facebook's policy clearly said, they won't let you know who viewed your profile. so, the friends that you see are appearing randomly.
