As of Thursday AUG 9, 2012,
the NASDAQ is at 3,009 and
the DOW JONES AVERAGE is at 13,109.
the S&P 500 INDEX is at 1395.
The market is now near the 2007 high.
Big DOW components such as Johnson & Johnson, Walmart,
and Altria are near all-time highs, while Facebook is going down.
The recovery in the stock market has been fueled by record low
interest rates and money creation by the Federal Reserve.
We have a drought in several states which is pushing up futures prices
of corn and other basic foods. Gold and silver are going nowhere.
People are speculating that precious metals may go down for a few years.
The European Union may eventually break up, but no one knows.
Whenever Europe is in the news headlines, the stock market goes down.
That's about it.

I follow my portfolio on my phone with Chaikin Power Tools, and I check sources online like stockcharts.com and Google Finance. I also like to have CNBC on in the background.
