Is it possible for people with yahoo mail and aol mail to IM each other?

My niece and I want to IM each other, but I have aol mail and she has yahoo. I doubt there's a way, but you never know.
If there's a way, please let us know.
If there isn't, I guess we could stick with text or regular mail. I prefer IM though because the keys are bigger.

Hi Phylicia,

AOL is not currently one of the IMing clients you can use with Yahoo Messenger. However, you could ask that your niece ping you via Facebook as that is connected. Alternately, she could use Yahoo too. The accounts are free so all she'd have to do is sign up.

If you want to chat via Facebook, you just need to link your Facebook account to Yahoo. Here's how:
