What are the consequences of the internet?
I'll give thumbs up to everyone who helps me, and ofc a best answers vote to the person with the best answer.

I'm currently working on a submission for school, where I have to write about the consequences of the social media. I haven't gotten far in my writing, because I'm kinda stuck. So, I need some help. If you have som keywords or key phrases that I can work on, that would be really great.

The task has also given me the following questions to answer:
* How is the public debate in today's society?
* Who participates in the debate?
* What opportunities and constraints does the media provide for debate?
* How has the media development contributed to new forms of communication?

I didn't really understand the 'debate'-thing. Do you think my teacher meant political debates or something?

Thanks!

Used properly, it can be an excellent form of communication. Used wrongly, it can destroy people.

Debate, means discussion, communication, views offered.......

Social media has opened 'debate' ( discussion, communication, views ) to the world on what was previously only localised issues, so it can mean you get other views ( good or bad)
So it has given rise to a larger audience and a more varied 'debate' ( discussion, communication, views ) as it has a wider audience that attracts more publicity something 'some' want and others don't want, it can also attract media advertising contracts so that increases the finances of the 'company' who is putting the debate online, increasing their turnover.

However it can also attract a certain type of person, (same as YA forum) namely children/young people ( depends on the category you are in) who can pretend to know about what they are giving an answer to, pretending to be qualified, older or as we often get rude and abusive from the safety of their computer, socially isolated people as well as those who do answer from knowledge/experience and qualifications, however it is not always easy to as they say sort the 'wheat from the chaff'' (meaning good from bad advise)
and
social media influences lots of people sometimes in a good way but mainly in a bad way, as some think what is online is 100% true and ANYONE can put ANYTHING online
