This is because of targeted marketing. So if you search of things on google, google pass on this information on to facebook, most search engines do this so in some form or other

you can actually say you are not interested in the products and they will stop showing them

It's down to tracking cookies. Facebook tracks the sites that you've visited. (If you let it). Then it uses that data to serve targetted adverts.
