Neoliberal is the true 'classical' definition of liberal. It's kind of like conservatism where government is kept small, privatisation occurs and the most important point is a laissez faire economy. Liberals want interventionism, large central government, higher taxes and things like that. Around 200 years ago the term liberal actually was closer to neoliberalism today.
