My teacher asked me in the International marketing exam do you think marketing stereotype the demographic groups and comment about it, and I gave this answer. What do you think, its a pass?

As defined by Wright (2000) Ethics are standards of conduct formally determined by organizations through a code of ethics and moral judgment ,developing for that ethics posture , moral conduct, firm core values and essential beliefs become part of the organization.
The ethics differently from laws that generate interpretations must have values adopted and implemented and companies seeking economic and financial results primarily than legal controls should have a moral control of illicit acts even more in the case of marketing.
Marketing actions are an integral part of the business being the ethics in marketing a business philosophy and inserted in organization ethics defined in their mission, requiring to create, redefine, practice and consolidate ethical standards that prevent fraud and disloyal marketing practice to the consumer but also against competitors and current legislation.
Marketing practices actions that motivate and enable the company exchange process with the market and that in its instrumental and operational aspects acts on consumers behaviour through marketing tools such as advertising, sales promotion and personal selling, which are sometimes criticized regarding the actions of induction the needs and people's expectation by specific products or services. International marketing can also reinforce stereotypes dividing people into market segments, stereotyping categories by gender or youth.
Must be taken into account that such actions are not immoral, if such products and services are needed to a particular segment of society and if social interests are considered to avoid social judgment. As defined by Laczniak (1983), to judge if an action is ethical ,should act in relation to others in the same way that you expect others to act toward you, should act in the best interest for the largest number of people, act in such a way that the attitude that you take can be a law or a universal rule of behaviour in relation to the given circumstances, take attitudes that any group of professional colleagues see as appropriate, asking if you will fell comfortable explaining everyone why you took this attitude . Society is increasingly demanding, conscious of their role as consumers and citizens demanding a ethical posture in business and as a consequence, of the marketing , reinforcing the need for companies to a high degree of ethical commitment in the society where they operate ,being ethics a strategy to be followed by companies adding value to the institution and achieving profit.

i don't know about much about marketing but i work in sales/business and stereotyping people is wrong and all but i do it all the time (i can't stop it)

For ex: Every time someone of indian ethinicity comes in i think it is a lost cause (the stereotype is that they are cheap) The thing that i hate is the fact i have never encountered at my job an indian that broke this stereo type (they will always ask about the price, try to not pay the taxes, complaining its too expensive)

I don't hate indians at all and respect that they come from a different environnement in India, its just something i have observed though at my work.
