facebook notification on homepage and email?

i sign into my facebook and it says i have like 9 new notifications and then ill be browsing around and there will be comments that i never got notifications of that are on like my pics or wall or stuff that i liked and commented on. and sometimes i get the emails for a few i missed but sometimes i dont. AND sometimes if i have new notifications the thing doesnt go red. whats wrong with my facebook n how do i fix it cuz its REALLY annoying me.

mine is doing the same thing, I dont get emails but the notifications have been screwy so I believe it is something with facebook, sometimes itll miss things all together.they always have problems so it doesnt surprise me. i also have been having trouble with chat.
