If you install Win 7, you will have to get the drivers by yourself, if they are available.

I have been using Win 8.1 since it came out and do not have any problems. It is a very good OS but it is different than Win 7 and Microsoft has done next to nothing to help users get used to it.

View the following 2 videos (total viewing time about half an hour). They will answer 90% of your questions about Win 8:

If you still have problems, then think about changing the OS.

I agree with Fred, many on this site have tried going back and wound up with more problems than just Win 8.1. I am an old man and have gone from DOS 1.0 thru Windows 8.1. Get a book and learn how to use it, not that big a deal. The only problem is Windows Media Center, you need 8.1 pro and have to spend an extra 10 bucks. That Bill Gates is down to his last 60 billion and has to try harder.

• Hi Senthil,

I am Kaveri from the Dell Social Media Outreach team.

If you are not comfortable with windows 8 and want to install windows 7 in your system then you will have to purchase the genuine Windows 7 DVD. You can download the drivers from Dell support website if you didn’t get the Drivers DVD. Please find the link below for the same.

Link:- http://dell.to/16dKcJN

1) Enter the Service Tag and press submit button. ( You can find the service tag at the bottom of the laptop on white sticker, it’s a seven digit alphanumeric code which ends with BS or number 1.)
2) Click on Drivers and Downloads.
3) Choose the Operating system.
4) Click all the drivers and download it.

In case of any further assistance Please feel free to contact me directly by sending a reply to this blog.
We would recommend you do not post your private information on a public forum.

Thanks & Regards
