how do you delete your facebook account?

i made a facebook account and i don't want it. how do i deleate it

you can close it out. no more facebook showing up anywhere, but you cannot delete it. it will always be there. you can access it again any time.

Drop down menu "v" on the right side of the menu across the top > Account settings > Security > Deactivate your account (it's below the box in small blue text) it will redirect you. Fill out the little form and hit confirm. You'll be logged out and informed that if you ever want to reactivate your account to log in again and it will be waiting there for you. But until you log in again you won't be on Facebook. People won't be able to see your profile, you won't be on their friends list. etc.
