Facebook timeline question?

Since Facebook is heavily advertising its Timeline feature, I decided to check it out. However, I found one thing in particular to be very vague and that's removing old status updates and comments. I went through my activity log and played around with it for some time, but can't figure out how it works.

So my question is: does deleting a comment or status through your activity log also remove it from the rest of Facebook?

Yes. When you remove something that you posted, it's gone from the Facebook servers. It may take some time for the servers to update everything, but it will be gone if you delete something.
