My little cousin (13, very mature) wants a blackberry?
Shes in the market for her first phone and the main things she'd use it for are
- Texting
- Facebook
- email
- Calling
- and possibly GPS use (my uncle gets lost a lot Tongue)

She likes the Blackberry Curve but isn't sure about what most people use it for.

P.S- shes going to High School next year so she really needs a phone that wont break on her!

Please Answer!

The BlackBerry Curve is an excellent device. The Curve 8310 (AT&T) and 8330 (Verizon, Alltel, Sprint) both offer what she would want, including internal GPS.

Blackberry won't work for her, or anybody for that matter. Get the iPhone, it does all that and way more, and it's cheaper, and much easier to use. The iPhone can be used for anything.

=) We have it on Vodafone... it seem's like a good phone... I Still want the iPhone even though my current phone (N95-8Gb) has better reviews... it just look's so SeXy =)

I'd tell her to get some form of Side-Kick if she like's to SMS/Text...

I don't know about her but I HATE Touch screen texting... =/ I need raised key's this way I can sms while I'm not looking (under the table in class) xD

The Curve seems really cheap and plastic like.
Get a Moto Q9c. Great keyboard for texting and an Internet Explorer and e-mail.

I think that the best phone for a mature 13 year old (such as myself) would be to have a Blackberry Bold. It has a Facebook app, email, GPS <if your with Rogers then you don't have to pay for maps>, obviously a phone, and texting. I've tried out the Pearl, Curve, and the 8820 but I think that as for a UI and overall feel for texting the Bold is perfect!
