How Do I Split Profit In This Partnership?
I am the one paying out of pocket expenses for the startup, I am hiring a lawyer and a web-page designer. I am the one buying materials, finding models, making the clothing, hiring seamstresses, hiring photographers, marketing to stores and doing the Research. I am directing the shoots, organizing the pricing and lines. I am designing the products and created the product name and slogan.

She was supposed to be in charge of the website and our label, but I am hiring someone to take care of the website. I am in charge of press releases too. Really, she is just in charge of the social media (Facebook, pinterest, twitter), shipping the products, writing our information sections on the website, and keeping track of the email list and customer purchases. I do not think a 50/50 split is fair because I am paying all of the startup fees, I have all of the resources and I am the one giving all of the ideas. What do you guys think? 75/25? 70/30? 80/20?

Why are you asking US this question? why not talk it over with your business partner/partners?

Don't broadside them with an offer out of the blue. Sit down and have an honest face to face with your help. what you agree to now can be negotiable in the future- according to the needs of the masses and the fairness associated with that negotiation. more work done calls for more pay recieved. you already know what fair and equitable is all about...

80/20 IF that. Think of it as a Server/Expo kind of relationship that you'd see in a restaurant where one is doing all of the up front business while the other is in the back making sure things are prepared correctly.

Sounds like you have the stressfull part and she's laid back marketing on the pc and fixing shipping and purchases , honestly a real business owner who took the most risk and did more labor making it work deserves the most . I wouldn't dare 50/50 the profits unless I trusted this person to help make the company grow and managed it to make money , why 50/50 with her whenever a normal paid employee can do her job , I'd rather pay her and give her a bonus for her help. Your profit sharers must help make you money and make your company grow and if you feel she dosnt fit that than she's better off as an employee
