How can I promote my show Wayward Traveler to get more YouTube views?
I have a show called "Wayward Traveler Mini Docu: Nevada Train/Semi Collision 6.26.2011," that I just posted on YouTube. Without telling anyone about it we got 150 views in the first day. It's going up about 10 an hour at this point. Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can generate more YouTube views without sponsoring a YouTube channel or Facebook Marketing? I am more than well aware that posting it here will get me some views but I am really more interested in a legit way to get people to watch.

Facebook is definitely your solution, you really don't have to market it, you just have to share it with your friends. Post on your account so that everyone could see it. Or you can make a fan page.

Hello,

I will share with you all some tips in getting as much youtube views as you can

FREE METHODS ------>

1.Share your videos on social networking sites like facebook, twitter etc
2.Use content targeted words and find appropriate tags.
3.Build up a email list and tell them all bout your new video.
4.Place it on your blog/website or tell your friends to put it on theirs.
5.Post it on digg, stumbleupon etc
6.You can post it on forums where there is free review service or post it on sites where you refer other's and get free views.
7.Make quality videos, get a good high definition camera if you are professional.
8.Put in nice descriptions to rank up higher.
9.Post short videos that are upto the point, not detailed ones so that more and more people watch it.
10.Make youtube friends. Or do the sub4sub thing, but please don't spam(Do it once in a while)
11.Place nice thumbnails, meaning put the most thrilling part of the video at the half so that it attracts people when they see the thumbnail
12. And yeah make nice videos which are bound to be popular or be the first one to start a topic.

These might be good for fun but for business purposes, I won't only rely on them..
As they would get you some traffic but they won't make it go viral and won't be sufficient.
You could also choose some paid methods which I have myself tested upon and completely satisfied with.
Those whom I'll mention are pretty reliable and always get back to your queries.

1. http://www.youtubeviews.info/

This is the first site when you search on Google, so it must be good enough to top up on the SERP.
They had recently closed down because of the change in YouTube policies, But I had been satisfied again with the services they provide.
I got a email few days back that they are back on track. Co-incidentally I had to increase youtube views on one of my videos. I had two offers for them. In one I took the standard rate which was quite fine and as always up to my expectations. For the other one I tried the fast rate, though it is a bit pricey but as I had to promote it for my business so it was fine for me. Plus, they also told me that increasing Youtube views is not enough, therefore I also ordered Youtube Subscribers, Comments and Youtube Likes too. And once again the order was finished before the deadline. Moreover, people get banned as they use cheap ways to get more youtube views but they don't hack Youtube views which is why it is safe as my videos have never been banned.
Moreover, they also offer views for other channels like metacafe, dailymotion etc

2-Get this program from http://www.tubetoolbox.com/?Secure=A1302

They have a network of people who view, comment, like etc on your video that could be helpful to promote your video.
Though it does not provide views that fast, but again it will work in the longer run.
Even though, it's a bit costly but I feel it's worth the investment.
Moreover, it also has a free trial so if you like it you can always upgrade

3- Other recommended site of mine would be http://www.viewsguru.com

They also offer you discounts when purchasing in bulk, this'd get it cheap for you compared to others. And they also address your query immediately(at-least they did it for me).
My friend has a promotion agency and I recommended him of their services. He tried it & was totally amazed. Now he uses them mostly to get all he needs and his clients have also been enthralled to their delivery rate.

I hope these will be as satisfying for you as they had been for my friend who has a blog(source please).
There he has posted some more information, and he allowed me to post here to increase your knowledge.

Have a nice day

There are several things people should know
about labelling their videos: 'tags' are only the
3rd most important component in YouTube's
search results. Words in the title are 1st, and
words in the description are 2nd.

And ahead of all those characteristics is your
YouTube username. Thus, 'tags' are really in
4th place, and as such are the least important
element in any search.

[Whenever you do a search, how often do you
find videos at the top of the search results list
with no matching words in the username, titles
or descriptions? Probably never. If you ever do
come across videos like that with no matches
whatsoever, that's when the 'tags' are actually
relevant in the search.]

Thus if you're searching for videos (either your
own or somebody else's), and you want them
to appear at the top of search results, type the
username first, and then the title of the video
(or at least the most unique words of the title).

If you don't want your actual username being
part of the search (perhaps because people
don't know it), and you want your videos near
the top of search results, then make the titles
and descriptions of all your videos as long as
you can, using plenty of "buzz" words. (If you
are fascinated by 'tags', try to include them in
your titles.)

As for "generic" searches, it should come as
no surprise that YouTube employs the Google
search engine, which has its own peculiar set
of rules. Thus consider these when you label
your videos:

1 -- Try not to use lots of hyphens (-), because
they are considered just like minus signs, and
compound words risk being totally eliminated
from any search.

2 -- Avoid using many 1- or 2-letter words such
as "a", "I", "at", "in", "me", "my", "no", "of", "to"
or "we" because Google actually ignores those
types of words, and they too will most likely be
eliminated from any search.

3 -- Use quotation marks to denote phrases or
words that must be together, or else YouTube
treats them like separate words. For example,
there is a ton of difference between just typing
Qantas Airlines vs "Qantas Airlines", or typing
the spirit of Australia vs "the spirit of Australia".
(Check it out yourself.)

A great example of all this is when I answered
another person's Yahoo question a while ago,
who asked:...Why can't I find my video whose
title is One in a Million-Hannah Montana?

Well, 1 -- the name "Hannah" is automatically
eliminated; 2 -- so are the words "in" and "a";
3 -- no quote marks means that the remaining
words are each treated separately. YouTube's
search engine isn't aware that this is supposed
to be the name of a song.

Thus, in this example, the person may as well
have written Million Montana One in YouTube's
searchbox. Guess whose video didn't show up
in the first 10 pages of results?

If you want more people to "find" your videos by
accident, there are a few other things you can
consider -- but first make sure you have a pen,
paper and calculator beside you.

While your videos are "on screen", go through
the "Related Videos" section and find the ones
with considerable views. Click on those videos
to find their "date", and with your calculator try
and determine their popularity with the formula
"total views" divided by "number of months on
YouTube". After you have determined which of
the videos are most popular, take note of their
titles, descriptions and tags -- and try to do the
same or likewise.

That way, your videos will be even more closely
"related" to them; and whenever people watch
those other videos, your videos should show up
more often and higher in their "Related Videos"
section.

Another thing that you can do is: when you are
on those other videos, click "Statistics & Data"
to see which sites "link" to those other videos.
Perhaps you can try to do the same with yours.

I hope my information has been helpful to you.
