Depends on what you mean by "safe". If you mean private, secure, etc., then no. If you mean will it destroy your computer or cell phone, probably not.

if you do not put personal info then there is no way it cannot be safe,

you can privatise your profile too.

It's only as safe as you make it. Don't tweet your SSN, for example.

none of those sites are totally safe but it depends personal information you put on them twitter is not any different from my space or facebook just limit what information you put about yourself on them
