I'm about to acquire performer visa (90 days) from U.S. embassy with aim to try stand-up comedy around CA, maybe TX.

Can I say 'anything' on stage without fear of legal persecution?
Are there any federal or state laws that can lead to charges brought up against me or visa cancellation + deportation from country? I'm talking live performances only, no broadcasted material.

I'm sorry if it sounds too weird for a serious question, I'm an EU citizen and have only little to none theoretical knowledge of your legal system. I've recently caught Twitter buzz about some English people got detained, denied entry and deported for a tweet content, hence the curiosity...

I don't suggest you say anything about bombs, or anything that could ever be construed as a threat.

So you might want to stay out of politics or any subject relating to terrorism.

In general you can say what you want. However, you did not ask about criminal prosecution but instead about deportation. I do not know your status in the u.s. or the conditions of your stay. In general terms, a visa is revocable at any time and for any reason.
