Facebook friend request?

Does facebook let you know if your friend request get rejected? If so what does it say. I don't want to accept someone but I don't want them to know that I don't.
my friend was showing me that she requested someone and she went back to there profile and it said add as friend and when they clicked add as friend again it said friend request pending. What is that about?

It doesn't say anything, if you reject them, they just go back to having the option to "add as friend" again.

While waiting for your reply, if they go to your profile it will show up as Waiting for Confirmation for Friend Request or something like that, it reverts back to "add as friend" once you've rejected them.

Facebook wont notify them though.

YE WAT THE FIRSTT ANSWER SAID WAS RIGHT N PENDING JUST MEANS LIKE WAITING FOR ANSWER FROM THE PERSON.
