Twitter desperate help ?

I'm a 15 years old Egyptian, I love twitter I'm a tweep sice about 4 months ago. I have 1510 tweete, 211 following, 118 followes. I write many tweets that I think are cool, but I don't get much retweets or favorites, my highest tweet got 4 retweets. Some friends tell me your tweets aren't good. i think you just have to keep on tweeting what you want to tweet. Don't give a damn about the others and what they think of your tweets. it's ur twitter right? so tweet whatever YOU want. when i started tweeting i too didn't get retweets or favorites, not at all. when you get more followers you'll get more RTs and Favs.
one thing that I tried was tweet something about the Trending Topics. And if you listen to music, you can tweet about it.. don't forget to use hash tags (#) and (@)s. they pretty much help to gain more RTs and Favs.
