It's framed, in mint condition. It's an advert for shampoo and has the line 'THE YOUNG TALK OF HOLLYWOOD AND STAR OF 20TH CENTURY FOX'S PRODUCTION OF 'LOVE NEST', MARILYN MONROE!', along with a small interview with Marilyn. My mother doesn't remember how much she brought it for, only that 'I brought it from some very kind gay guys in the seventies.'. The ad itself is from 1950 and Life magazine. She also has the famous Life where she's on the cover and her Playboy issue.

You might want to look up the Marilyn Monroe Museum (there must be one somewhere) or you could post it on EBAY and get whatever you can. Sorry I'm not more helpful...just some ideas.

Hi there. I am the founder and administrator of a Facebook page for collectors of Marilyn memorabilia. I, in conjunction with world-reknowned Marilyn experts, do authenticating and appraising of all sorts of Marilyn items.

Your advertisement is not her first, it dates to 1951 as a promotion for the movie Love Nest. If it is torn out of the magazine the most you can hope for is $10-20.

As far as your magazines, which Life and which Playboy are you referring to? Marilyn was on the cover of Life 12 times, and on the cover of Playboy I believe 5 or 6 times. The only Life magazine that has any value beyond about $20 is her first one from 1952. The only Playboys with any value are the first two, an original 1953 (be careful, there are exact reproductions of it) and the 1955. The 53 sells for between $1500-3,000 and the 55 sells for a few hundred. The rest are valued at about $10.

If you have any further questions, I invite you to join my page.Just search Marilyn Monroe Collectors on Facebook. If you'd like to sell these items you can list them there for free.
