Is my friend jealous as she has not responded to my message but she's viewed it multiple times?

I am dating a great guy and I have a good job. I don't know if she's jealous or just being bitchy. She asked about the date then didn't respond, yet she has been online a lot. She has no job or partner and her life isn't great right now. I never brag or show off or anything but she just seems evasive and distant when I mention things. Its almost like she isn't my true friend. I thought we was best friends. Yet the other day she put on facebook that this other girl is her best mate :/ which I've accepted now. Is she being weird?

Last week I started dating and yesterday I called my friend, she pretty much was the same way as your friend. She blamed me that she felt resentment from her most recent date (which failed, and I had told her it would before it even happened).

However, she has depression. She has an extremly low self image. Even though she doesn't really have anything to be jealous of in my life she is, and I think it may be do to her image of herself.

Maybe your friend is the same way? She may seem like a bad friend right now, but why not just talk to her. Maybe she has some mental battle going on and just needs to talk. During our conversation my friend ended up crying and just being upset over life. We worked it out and apparently it helped her.

Don't assume right away, give her a chance. Best wishes.
