Facebook android app finding friends in contacts?

So I downloaded the Facebook app on my HTC but when I go to the find friends part its showing people that are supposed to be in my contacts but I don't know who they are and I don't have their number in my phone. Does anyone know how to fix this or maybe see if their Facebook name is different from the contact name?
Un-installing and reinstalling won't work because 1) I tried that on my other phone and it didn't help and 2) I got a new phone and installed it and am still seeing this.

try deleting & re-installing the app on your phone.
