Go to Settings > Privacy > Who Can See My Stuff

Right now it's probably set to Public. Change that to Friends or Only Me if you prefer.

open your timeline, then click the little pencil in the upper right corner of the section you want to change, and then click "edit privacy" - then a box pops up and you can change the audience selector for that specific item
