All old Yahoo e-mail deleted?

This problem isn't actually mine - it's my wife's. She had an old Yahoo mail address she hadn't logged into in ages, and when she logged in recently she discovered that all her old e-mails had vanished and her inbox was empty.

When she read up on this online she saw some mention of other people complaining of the same issue, when apparently Yahoo had e-mailed classic users to some new system.

I don't know about that - all I want to know is there any way for Yahoo to restore those mails? From what I've read in the help, only mails 7 days or newer can be restored. If it was some fault of Yahoo's that cleared out entire inboxes of valuable data, then I'm positive they'd have an archive they'd be able to roll-back to.

The question is: how do we contact somebody who could do that? And has anybody else had this issue of disappearing mail? Any help would be appreciated, because my wife had some important documents and mails that have vanished!
