Website-the way to go?

Website-the way to go?
Hello,

I would like to start a website/blogg. First of all I want you to know that I don´t have much experience or knowledge about this.

What troubles me is if this is the best option, what I truly want is a page on the internet were I can design the site myself, and daily makes changes to it. I want a page were I can easily go in and post pictures, texts and links to Youtube videos.
Is this a good or bad example of getting a website, or is there other kinds of sites I can try ( blogs or similiar)?

From what I understand you need a domain name with ".com" and a web hosting. It doesn´t cost much but what really makes all confusing is the website building part. Let´s say I use Adobe Dreamweaver or Muse (please give me more options of web building softwares), how will I use it. Would I start with creating the website in the software and only then buy the domain and web host? How long time would the coding take? Easy to learn? Is a software with coding the best way to go? I would love to make my site myself but maybe with another program that does not require coding.

I have so many more questions than this, would probably cover the hole page. Anyhow, I hope you got an idea of my confused mind. As I said in the beginning of the text, I don´t have a lot of experience or knowledge so please have understanding.

Thanks, please let me know all there´s worth to know about webhosting, website, what I should think about, what not to do and so on. Thanks

Look into wordpress if you want full control... it's relatively easy to use, but you have to do some reading to see how it all works. There are plenty tutorials on youtube if you need someone to "explain" you a bit more about it.
Once you're' up and running, it'll be easy to update and maintain, the setup will always be a bit of a steep learning curve.
You don't really need to know much about coding at all, but you need to read documentation of wordpress. As the geeks always say, RTFM (read the f*ing manual).
.com domains can be registered with a range of suppliers. Usually it's easiest if you get one from your hosting company (the company that will keep your blog on its servers, e.g. godaddy).

As I guessed you want your own website and don't want to get lost with the flickery world of programming...I'll say use some services like blogger !You would not need to write a single line code.....Or there are other services ..... But when it comes to designing your way It may require some coding skills ... and there are other technical issues like SEO ....and you don't have to have a .com domain .You can have any domain that exists :-P

Use a free blogging first like blogspot.com, wordpress.com, or even tumblr.com. Get use to it. You don't need coding skill to do that. Buy a domain after you get use to it and planning to seriously maintain it.

If you want to try coding, try to find free webhosting or if you are on windows, install WAMP server in your PC, and then install wordpress(you get this from wordpress.org. not wordpress.com I mentioned earlier) or any blogging platform. You can learn php, mysql, html, css, and javascript from it.

You can use the wordpress or web building software which provided by the web hosting to build your website. It is easy to operate.
A web hosting and a domain are necessarily. Your website can't be without them.

Dreamweaver is pretty hard to use, and each time you want to make an edit, you have to edit the web file itself, and reupload it to the server. Try ultimatewb, it is what I use. They can help you with the whole process there. The website builder is really good and easy to use. You design, create, and manage your website from your own on line admin panel, from any computer - or even tablet and smart phone. You will need a domain name and web hosting, which you can also get there, and they will set it all up for you for free. There is also a lot of articles there you can read if you want more info.

The most important decision you can make is …where do you want to spend your time?. The places which receive your full attention will do better than the places that won’t. What follows from that is this: You need to make hard choices about what you will do–and what you won’t. And it is really is the important decision you can make, because everything else you do will flow from it…including the next point.

My suggestion for the first year is find easily create your own website without any programming skills. This can save you money at the same time.

Here is a place to start to make things a little easier:
http://www.dynadot.com/sitebuilder/about.html

Dynadot offers an easy solution to creating and maintaining your own website. you just provide them with a New Domain Name without have to rent web hosting, Build your website free and easy with integrated tools that don’t require the user to master or even know any web programming languages. All that is required is a new domain name, web browser and an internet connection to access your Website account where you can manage, update, fix or redesign your entire website, post pictures, texts and links to Youtube videos and all popular social media without having to type one piece of programming code.

You can register your domain for just $4.99 per year per domain, Dynadot regular domain pricing is $9.99 but they just launched a new Refer-a-Friend program for 2014!. the program offer us $5 off on new domain registration.
