facebook app keeps freezing?

I downloaded the Facebook messenger app for windows that allows you to talk to your Facebook friends much easier than having to go on Facebook. But i accidentally clicked the option to dock the window to the right, which makes it act like a sidebar pretty much. However, when i click the option to take it off the sidebar, it doesn't allow me to and the entire app freezes and i cant close it or use it at all. I've tried re-installing it but when it's re-installed it automatically is placed on the sidebar and the entire process happens again. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
