How to get a Virtual Assistant/Social Media Position?
Hi,
I have experience working as a virtual assistant and performing social media tasks. I have been working for a online based business handling customer support, tech support, managing client accounts, content writing, social media, Microsoft tools, presentations, internet research, etc. I am also familiar with word press and Joomla. Unfortunately, the company I have been working for no longer has the hours available to support me. I left my other position to work for them. I am now unemployed. Luckily, I found this position on Craig's list. I have been job searching online, but have been unsuccessful, considering there are so many scams out there. I am looking for a legitimate job through the web. Does anyone have any advice for me on resources I could explore to find employment within this field. Thank you Ads |

The biggest sites for that type of work are Odesk.com, Elance.com, Freelancer.com and Guru.com
Forget Craigslist - there are too many scams. Most of the real jobs posted are restaurant and retail jobs that post the company's name in the posting. There are so many fake check scams that I would never do any sort of virtual job for anyone on Craigslist Ads |

The freelance marketplaces Elance.com, vWorker.com and Odesk.com are good for short term projects that could turn into longer term work. Freelancer.com may be another possibility though I hear there's more chance of being scammed there.
Elance alone paid $130 Million in the first half of 2013, their employment breakdown is interesting. https://www.elance.com/q/online-employment-report There are also classified ad sort of sections in some Webmaster and Internet Marketing forums. |
