What happens when you request to join a facebook group?

I have just requested to join a facebook group (for people in an accommodation building at the uni I am going to in a few weeks, it is for new students)

But it was request to join. I know little about fb as I use it just for messages mostly, what happens? lol thanks xx

Nothing, once you except the request you just become a member of the group.

It sounds like the group is a private group which is why you had to request to join, your request will go to the creator of the group who will confirm or deny your request, if your confirmed you will then be able to see the group and discussion boards in it etc.

Groups are moderated in facebook depends on the page maker. So when the person approve your request you will become a member of that group.
