Why do random people favorite my tweets on Twitter?

Well, I'm pretty new to twitter. One time I tweeted "=(" and there was like 3 people who favorited it. (Well, they're girls) I don't know why. How did they find my tweet and why did they favorite it? There seems to be nothing interesting with a sad face. Or are they enjoying my sadness (Just kidding)?
