Confused about Twitter follow suggestions?
Today when I signed on to Twitter it suggested that I follow my ex boyfriend. I find this odd because:
A. I do not follow people that I know in real life. Just celebrities mostly (relating to the fashion industry) so we don't follow anyone mutually. B. I have never received a "suggestion" for someone that I know in real life. C. I don't have my contacts list synched to Twitter. But it wouldn't matter anyways because I don't have him in my contacts, D. I am not friends with him on Facebook or another social media site. E. I have never searched for him on Twitter. I didn't even know he had an account. I am just very confused how he showed up in my suggestions... If someone views your page can they show up as a follow suggestion? That's the only thing I can think of. Ads |

It's usually based on mutual follows or posts. For example, I posted about a show that I like and Twitter suggested I like a few pages/people who are related to that show or like the show as well. Same thing with music; if I follow a band I like, they may suggest I follow a similar band or a person that likes that band as well.
Some suggestions are just based on who's popular (overall) or based on what's trending. Ads |
