how to delete my facebook account?

I have been trying for over 4 hours to delete my Facebook account to with no luck. Can you help?I do not want it any longer.

Go to the top right hand corner, there's a little arrow
Then go to account setting
Click on security settings
The at the bottom of that list it should say deactivate your account

It's Easy!
~First you go to the tip right corner
~Then you go to account settings
~Then you go to security settings
~Finally you hit deactivate account and give your reason!!
That's it!

Hi !!
Pls go to upper Right side and click account link.and choose account setting link after opening this page you click left side security link and after opening security setting page you can see Deactivate your account Label. after that you can easily choose what u want....
