Why can't I see who my Twitter follower is?

I'm new to Twitter and recently saw that I have a follower. However, when I clicked to see who it was, all the page said was "your 1 follower" but underneath that it was blank. Why can't i see who my follower is?

At a guess, it wasn't a genuine follower. You get a lot of people who are just trying to sell stuff by posting links to websites, or spam, etc. Their accounts get shut down pretty quickly but the often remain on your followers list.
