You can make new friends there too. The person you are trying to friend has to agree to be your friend.

Well, Facebook not only made for one particular city or country. Its worldwide website and you can make friends on Facebook all over the world.But the real thing is depends on you that you want more friends from all over the world or just want only whom you know very much.

you can make new friends,its right but fb does not officially permit to do so,so after adding some strangers on your acc it,and when you try to add another one it gives msgs to u like"Do u know this person out of facebook?"& seeks to your confirmation.

The answer to your question is: Yes.

I add just people I know in real life, while others make "friends" online. IMHO, if you can't go with the person to see a movie, that person will never be any more than an acquaintance.
