How do you create a Facebook fan page? Is it free?

To create a new Facebook Fan page, use this link:

It's free to make one, but if you're making an "unofficial" fan page, make sure it says that in your title or it might get deleted. Here's what Facebook has to say about that:

"Note: Facebook Pages may only be used to represent real entities. Fake Pages will be reported and disabled. If you create a fake Page or violate our Terms in any way, your Facebook account may be disabled."
