Can you tell if someone denies your facebook friend request?

Basically, if someone requests me as a friend on facebook and I decline it, can they see I declined it?
Thanks Jam -- that's exactly what I figured. The whole "They should be able to tell by common sense" thing based on the "Add as a friend" popping back up.

No, they can not tell. Though they might be able to guess after a certain period of time.

if the person you accepted declined your friendship request, you will go to their page and see "add as friend" at the top, even though you already attempted to request them. if they havent checked their facebook, therefore not seeing your request, it will say "pending request" at the top of their profile.

If you go back to there page (keep revisiting it a couple times a day) and if it says "Add as a friend" again, that means they denied you.

Add they back..request sent will become add friend again
