Instagram connect to Facebook?
In instagram when you go to 'find people to follow' and then 'facebook friends tap to connect' what happens? Does it just show your facebook friends that have an instagram connected to their facebook? Or does it notify them that a new contact joined? Can my facebook friends find me if I connect?

No, it just shows you your facebook friends who are on Instagram they'll only find you if you click follow.
