what is going on with snapchat?

for the past week or so i have been getting weird friend requests from people i dont know. ive gotten like 2 a day... i was wondering if snapchat is hacked and if my information is safe.

Snapchat actually has been hacked and a database of 4.3 million usernames, passwords, emails, and phone numbers were leaked....

Chances are high that your information revealed to snapchat has been leaked.

I don't think you getting numerous friend request is related to the recent data breach.
