It locks you out for a day if you're guessing at the password. That's to keep out people trying to hack into an account from guessing the password.
Send yourself a message reminding you of the password, where you can find it again. You can phone it in, message yourself, put it in your computer or smartphone. Just don't forget it and you won't have the problems.

Or, use a backup email account, put that email address in Yahoo, and use it to reset your password when you forget.

Every 2 weeks, eh? i think what is happening is you have Yahoo set to keep you signed in for 2 weeks. So every 2 weeks you will need to sign in again. Be sure you click Sign IN and not Sign UP.

Sometimes there are glitches on this site, a common one is when the log in page insists you are entering the wrong password. Try refreshing the page or clearing your cache and cookies.

Accounts are locked when you enter the wrong password three or more times. Please write down your password so you do no forget it and remember that passwords are case-sensitive and must be entered exactly as they appear on file.

You may consider using a password manager site to remember your passwords. LastPass, RoboForm, 1Password and KeePass are some notable sites.

Information, links and instructions on how to delete your account can be found here:

Closing your Yahoo account -- http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?locale=en...id=SLN2044

Please read carefully and print or save any important messages or contact information before deleting your account. Be sure to update your Facebook, twitter, instagram, online gaming and any other sites that you have registered with this Yahoo ID.

90 days after you delete your Yahoo account it will be permanently deleted and all content stored within your account will also be deleted. Once an account has been permanently deleted it will not be possible to reactivate the account or to retrieve any information stored in the account.

To prevent loss of important information, please print your important email messages or contact information or save these in a text document that can be safely saved in your personal computer files.

Why Yahoo! may prompt you to change your password - http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=cont...sions=true

Password issues can be browser-related. I'd clear your browser's cookies and cache, close the browser, and open it again before trying to reset your password. Passwords shouldn't be changed more than once every 24 hours.

You can also try using a different browser to see if that allows you to change your password. Password change issues can also be the result of using ad blockers or pop -up blockers. You may need to disable these options before you can change your password.

Once you change your password it would be a good idea to review your security questions and make changes if you don't remember your answers.

I've checked the "Keep Me Signed In" box. Why am I still asked to sign in? - http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=cont...OD_MAIL_ML

I recommend using a password manager like Keepass or LastPass to create and store strong unique passwords for the sites you visit. You can also save notes like your secret questions and answers to the password entries. LastPass can automatically log you in to any web site you have stored in its database.
