Is my ferret still alive?
Pip my ferret got out of her cage a few days ago and was recently spotted at the local river. I don;t know how long she has been there for but I know that she was trained in catching rabbits and going down rabbit holes. I have been putting up fliers and posters in peoples letterboxes. Do you think she could still be alive? I've been searching at the river for 2 days now.

Never give up , always have hope !
If she was trained to catch some rabbits then surely she is still alive.
Ive never ha a ferret before and i dont know what they eat but if they have special pellets try putting out several bowls or piles of them all around the river.
If the river is clean drinking water then your ferret shouldnt need any water .
Keep searching !
good luck !x

She was taught to catch and kill rabbits, therefore she knows a way to get food and is able to provide for herself.

Go down to the last place she was spotted at. she's your ferret so hopefully theres a strong enough bond between you that she'll want to come see you.

It's entirely possible she's still alive and well, they can be pretty hardy...and if she knows how to hunt that's a plus, but it unfortunately doesn't mean she knows how to eat what she hunts. If she does, there's another plus.

Keep looking, keep putting up fliers - online too- and keep watch for her, go call to her, and not just at the river but in the surrounding areas. Put out some of her favorite food too, see if she comes looking. They have very good noses. Sometimes they can be real brats if they get loose and bond or not don't want to return, but putting out food and sitting quietly(if she's one of those stinkers that would rather be out and play over coming home), see if she shows, or call if she's the type to come running when you do.

You can post it here as well. In fact I saw a posting from someone who had found a lost ferret, so take a look, the lost and found ads occasionally pop up on her webpage. Ask for tips there as well, you may get some good ones. https://www.facebook.com/FerretWorld

This is the ferret someone found in Sunderland UK . https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/hpho...8640_n.jpg
