How can I fix a mistake I made on Facebook's "Find a Friend" feature?

I used the "Find a Friend" feature on Facebook and typed in their email because I was just curious to see if they had a facebook page. Evidently, they did, and Facebook automatically sent a friend request to them (which I didn't know it would do). I like this person, but they are only an aquaintance, not a friend, and I don't want to have them as a friend on Facebook! What can I do? I don't want to delete them if they confirm the request because I don't want to cause hard feelings. Please help!

Go here and click the x next to the person's name. It will cancel the request
