Generally if you publish through a traditional publisher, part of their job is to help you market your book. The publisher is also your marketer. However, that being said, my first publisher was a low life that breached his own contract and didn't help me market my book although it would have profited him to do so. A lot of publishers honestly suck.

I have also published through amazon and lulu and I have found marketing gurus and book bloggers on Twitter who probably charge a very competitive fee. Also I do my own YouTube videos and online marketing for free. (like answering questions in Yahoo!) =)

Go into your local bookstore.

Every publisher of every book in there will market your book.

Prices? Commercial publishers pay _you_.

Any company you pay won't help you market your book - at least, not with any effectiveness. Why would they? They don't need to: they don't care if you sell your books or not, because you've already paid them for printing them. That's where they make their money, from their clients' fees, not from book sales.

Any company that pays YOU - which is every publisher you'll see in any mainstream bookstore, basically - will help you market your book because they *only* make money from your book sales; therefore it's in their interests to help market your book because the more copies that sell, the more money they (and you) make.
