Good marketing for music?

Okay. So I recently made a Facebook Page to get my friends on Facebook to be more interested in my music. Using a nice app., I made it so I could give them 12 free downloads.

I know I need to get out there more and play shows more. A. To meet new fans and B. to give ones who are currently interested something to do and keep their attention.

I'm considering using the paid ads on Facebook if I can get a few DJ or Live PA gigs on my plate. Even though this won't lead to money in my pocket, it might help build my local base before I go do something like sell an EP on Itunes.

Should I wait till I have something to sell til I use paid ads or should I go for it and hope they like all the free downloads?

well i dont now alot but kmart walmart
