Do you agree that facebook makes you feel kind of worthless?
there are a # of reasons I think facebook makes me feel worthless (and I suppose others too). When I see people get comments like "oh you're so beautiful" a lot, and they are beautiful as a person and on the inside but definitely not the prettiest girl around... it makes me feel like crap.

I see friends I know that say they care about me & I see pictures of them hanging out with other ppl and yet they don't hang out with me.

I don't get very many friend requests, likes, or comments, only a few. I only have 26 friends currently... I see other people get many more likes and comments than me. It makes me feel lonely, like something's wrong with me. I am really sweet, but I am very quiet and very sensitive, so maybe that de-attracts people from me.

All-in-all, facebook makes me feel more worthless... like others are more beautiful, more sexy, more popular than me. That I'm not cared about really.

Is this how you guys feel too?

I never had an account with facebook, twitter, or any of those stupid social media sites. I don't care what others think of me.

More people feel like you than you realize.
A 2012 survey with 600 participants, recorded nearly 50-percent admitting to feeling envious of a friends' body when looking at Facebook photos.

I kinda feel the same way too. This goes for any social media site: Instagram, Ask.fm, etc. I am very quiet as well, but this does not de-attract people from you. Most people will recognize that you are shy, as they have done so for me. I have a lot of friends, but I still feel lonely while using social media sites. This may be because we are quieter than most people and don't feel like putting ourselves out there with many people.

But don't worry about it! We're just quiet and there's not much we can do about it. If you don't feel comfortable with having many friends, make a few friends that you can trust. Most importantly, be nice to everyone. No matter what. This is what helped me at school.

Cheers! Smile

Any resemblance between FB and real life is purely coincidental.

If I was a parent of a tween these days, I'd put a block on son's/daughter's computer for social media. It creates unnecessary problems and hurt feelings.

Yes, I know my block wouldn't keep them off it, but it would demonstrate that I consider it to be beneath contempt.
