Why did I suddenly get so many new followers on Twitter?
Yesterday morning I had 33 followers and by this morning I have 71 followers. The majority of these accounts are people trying to make it big in the entertainment industry OR those accounts that just tweet quotes. I haven't "advertised" my Twitter on any other sites. I DO follow most people back, but how did I get like 40 new followers in one day? What's even weirder is the fact that I got these followers one after another, literally minutes apart

which means that either one person followed you, and then all their followers decided to follow you, or a ton of people got new twitter subscriptions, and asked to follow you.

unless you're advertising for followers somehow, anyone that stumbles upon you can ask to follow.
