Trying to find a decent plot for a book I wish to write...?
I want to write a book, but I'm having a tough time trying to find a plot that isn't too complex and mediocre. I don't write fantasy or investigative mysteries.
The best plot that I've come up with so far is a group of teenagers face many obstacles to figure out who they are (because that's what most teenagers are trying to do anyway), but I'm not sure if that is a very good plot. I'm not asking for someone else to come up with it, but maybe contribute a few minor ideas that I can turn into bigger ones. I don't want it to be cliche. Do you think the plot I have above is good enough? If not, could you give me more ideas to add to it? Ads |

If you don't have a story inside, why do you want to write a book in the first place?
I suggest you try some creative writing and imagination exercises. Start off with short stories, just look at things (Such as a man holding a box) and ask yourself "why?" and "what if?" (The man's holding the box to protect the world, because anything that the box touches immediately gets cursed. He slips and it touches a school bus.) make it as crazy as you can. Have fun with it! Maybe then thinking up stories will come easier to you. |

Maybe some of these words and terms might help you on ideas you want to write about. For both the main plot and subplot of the story.
