Is selling AVON online a good idea for a teenager who can't get out of the house?
I'm 18 and I can't drive due to personal issues and my town does not offer public transportation. I need a job this Summer and no where around me is hiring. I'm basically stuck inside all Summer unless I go somewhere with a friend. I was thinking about selling AVON online. I have a decent following on websites such as twitter, tumblr, and facebook as well as other fashion/beauty communities. I know a TON about AVON because I have been using their products since before I can talk (my Mom always bought me stuff from there as a baby even). I grew up with this company and I am very familiar with it.

Now people say selling online's not smart but that's because they don't know the online market and as long as one knows how to get their name out there, success is not hard to come by. I have ideas for promotions and fun ideas to keep the customers coming. Does this sound ideal for me since I can't drive and get a "real part-time job"?
LOL it costs $20 to start....

First of all, it takes money to make money. You'll need at least several thousands of dollars to invest into your business. If you can't afford it, don't try it.

But if you do, you should set up your own website and then sell the products through that and/or open up an eBay store. Guaranteed you'll make good money through that! Remember to make very descriptive references to be able to sell easier.

I hope everything works out!

you can sell online and door to door.
avon sellers often have makeup parties to sell their goods, so have a couple get togethers with friends and friends of friends.
you dont need a car to sell makeup.

ps, volleyball, she doesnt need several thousand dollars.
do you know what avon even is? :|

I hope you saw my last post to your previous answer but here it is again:

I don't wear tons of makeup either, lol. I think Avon is a great start for anyone because it allows you to make as much money as you can earn. You will also have a website where anyone in the US can order from. Social media is a great way of sharing your site as well.

I hope that helps to answer you questions and here is a little bit of more info for you

After three years with Avon, I can honestly say that I have been able to earn $500 every two weeks. This is not to say that the money comes easy, it takes alot of work in the beginning to earn this over time but you do have to be consistent and work towards your business on a daily basis. I have a team of more than 150 reps throughout the United States on my team.

There are two ways to earn with Avon. You can earn money by becoming a high seller or like me where I help other people start their Avon businesses in addition to selling, the choice is yours.

I hope I was able to provide you with some insight but if you happen to have any other questions please feel free to contact me directly.

Not sure if you are aware you can now sign yourself up online to become a representative and that information can be found on my profile page. Big Grin
