I need to see if my boyfriend is using my computer to look through my facebook or just look at porn.?
Recently, I've noticed in my browsing history that while my boyfriend is alone with my computer, many blocks of time have been deleted from my Google Chrome browsing history. At first, I thought maybe he was looking at porn and didn't want me to see. But the last time I checked, he had deleted history from when I was very briefly in the shower, and another time while I was making lunch in the same room as him.

I realized that I've been leaving my facebook open, giving him the opportunity to snoop. This wouldn't be the first time I caught him snooping, so I want to make sure I have proof before I confront him about it. Obviously this time he's going to greater lengths to cover his tracks.

I wondered if there was any way to recovered the history he's been deleting, or if there is a way to set a separate history tracker that he wouldn't know to delete.

Or just stop letting him use your laptop...

You should download a keylogger.

Keyloggers record everything that is typed. They also take occassional screenshots so you can see what he is looking at.

Most are free, just google it.

If it's your laptop, lock it. Stop him from using it. Alternatively, Don't leave facebook logged in and then you will have your answer.

Well, I suggest locking your computer more often. Also, check to see if there are some ads related to porn in any way. Search engines will notice that the user is searching that, so they will cater to that by putting up ads that relate to it...even if the history is deleted.

since he is actively deleting stuff from the history, he clearly hasn't realised that chrome has an "incognito" mode which doesn't keep any history while browsing.

if you have a look in the google extension "store" you should be able to find an extension/addon that'll password protect the settings in chrome, meaning next time he does it he will then be filled with panic when he realises he can't delete the traces of what he's just been upto.

if you're feeling voyeuristic and slightly brave you can install a vnc SERVER on the pc to watch the pc's screen in real-time (choose "silent install" if given the option) and then use any vnc VIEWER on your mobile from the iphone/android app store.

SERVER download here:
http://www.tightvnc.com/download.php

on the VIEWER you need to provide the ip address of the pc on your network/wifi (see network properties in system tray) and you will see the computer's screen on your mobile screen - be aware that if you tap the screen on your phone it will register as a click on the pc.

use some trusted internet monitoring apps like sniperspy or ardamax:

it helps record internet usage even if the history is deleted.
