x + 2 = x ? Help me solve this equation please.?

I found this problem on a Facebook page and was wondering if anyone could help me find the unknown. Which "number" retains its value after you add 2 to it?? Apparently 90 percent of math graduates cant solve this.

There is no solution - - - the "equation" x + 2 = x is equivalent to 2 = 0 which is false.

x+2=x =>x-x=2 => 0=2(impossible)

=> This equation has no solutions.

Any number added with a real number will result a total different number from the first one.

seems to be a trick question, since it is impossible, if u did solve it, it would be 2 = 0, therefore then 1 could equal 0 and then math would make no sense anymore. there is no solution for this equation because it defies all logic in math

There is no solution but if you want to solve it in a simple way then multiply both sides by 0 then 0=0 is what you get and it is always true....Otherwise it is not possible at all seriously..
